Re-usable die-cut camo mask set

2 in 1 set – both dual or single-seater aircraft can be painted using this set

The set includes two sheets of pre-cut masks (shown in the picture). The masks are made from thin masking tape, which is easy to be peeled off and doesn’t leave any stains. The tape is tested on clear and painted model too. If carefully removed after painting, they can be used over and over again. It is flexible and easily applied over curved surfaces. Semi-transparent for easy and accurate placing.

BuAF Su-25

fighter jets were delivered during the last years of the Cold War, between 1986 and 1988. Total of 40 planes were acquired, 36 Ks and 4 UBKs, out of which one was lost in an accident. Currently only a small fraction of those are in airworthy condition. Eight were overhauled with an extension of their airframe and engine service life. They feature digital camouflage and were upgraded significantly /enhanced electronics, HUDs and satellite navigation systems/ compared to the original equipment. Currently they can carry a wider variety of weapons than before. Bulgarian Su-25s are expected to stay in service up to 2028 and possibly even beyond.

The 30th year Anniversary 

of the Su-25 in Bulgarian AF service was commemorated with special paint scheme of a Tiger head on the tail fin. Large number 30 was added as well. Two planes were painted in 2016, a single- and a dual-seater – bort numbers 197 and 047. DN Models’ paint mask set features both of the plane options – Su-25K and Su-25UBK. The dual and single-seat Frogfoot jets are very different in appearance. Double seater profile of the UBK is much larger compared to the Su-25K. Same goes for the vertical fins on which this mask set is to be used. Study carefully reference photos before paint mask application.

 Su-25K and Su-25UBK 

32nd scale kits, that this specific set of masks can be used with, are Trumpeter #02276 and #02277. This paint mask set is based on the real aircraft and is designed using very reliable drawings of the Su-25K and UBK. Trumpeter kits come with some geometry flaws, however they are still the only 32nd scale Su-25 kits on the market. Length and shape of the fuselage and vertical fins of the Trumpeter kits are considered to be an issue, hence some adjusting of the masks might be needed in order to achieve high level of realism when compared to the real aircraft. Camouflage paint masks are not included. Only the insignia, numbers and the 30th Anniversary special markings. For proper camo scheme, refer to reference pictures of the real jets.
